Safer, Greener, Healthier Streets
The Levelling Up East Lancashire programme will deliver Safer, Greener, Healthier Streets projects in seven areas across Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle and Rossendale.
These projects will deliver improvements to local streets which aim to make travel easier between homes, jobs, shops and services, and help make streets safer and more accessible for everyone.
Each Safer, Greener, Healthier Streets project is different and tailored to the area. Thank you to everyone who helped us to shape plans to deliver what matters most to local people.
The projects will deliver improvements to make streets safer through better crossings facilities, wider pavements, new surfacing, and better street environments through planting and seating. Some places will benefit from road safety measures to discourage pavement parking at junctions, improve sight lines for people crossing roads, and reduce traffic speeds. The projects aim to improve local journeys and support walking and cycling as travel options for people alongside public transport or car travel.
